French at Noon: Beyond the Basics Part I

This course continues from The Basics to expand your vocabulary, pronunciation and grammar in order to improve your listening and oral skills in real life, practical situations and simple conversation topics. Taking French at Noon allows you to take advantage of a leisurely pace and a smaller class.

What You Will Learn

The emphasis is on speaking, learning new vocabulary and expressions and improving grammar skills in order to communicate and to understand a number of everyday situations in French.

At the completion of this course, the student will be able to recognize more expressions and everyday French situations. The student will feel comfortable saying simple sentences and asking questions.

What to Expect

This is an interactive course, which includes lectures, exercises and practicing the language in and out of class.


We recommend the following course or equivalent:

This course is for students who have some basic vocabulary and grammar skills, but still find forming sentences difficult. It is for students who understand some spoken language as long as it is slow and the context is simple.
