Description

Technology doesn't have to be intimidating - learn how it can be used to create meaningful educational experiences in this hands-on class. Learn how to appreciate and use technology as a teaching tool to create more digitally-engaged learning environments. In this course you will explore the roles that online learning environments, social media, and emerging technologies can play in 21st century education.

What You Will Learn

At the completion of this course students will be able to:

  • Understand the basic application of the pedagogy, implementation, and evaluation of teaching with technology
  • Experience using a number of different social media tools and emerging technologies to create innovative educational experiences
  • Understand how to position oneself as a self-directed, lifelong technological learner

What to Expect

This is a blended course. The two day in class component of this course is interactive and includes lectures, group exercises and discussion. The online component requires active participation in discussion forums and students can expect to spend approximately 10 hours per week on course work.

To complete this course, active participation is required and participants must attend 100% of the in class portion of this course.

Completion Requirements
This is a graded course. Evaluation will be based on any combination of participation in online discussions, tests, and assignments.
