Recommendations for Spring 2018

Ready to shake off the winter blues and start planting seeds for the future? No matter where you are in your career, professional development courses are a valuable way to upgrade your skills and knowledge.

This spring explore our courses, develop new skills or improve upon your existing skills.

Not sure what to take? Here are five recommendations:

Conflict Management

Apr 5 & 6
9:00am - 4:00pm

Understand collaborative methods for resolving conflict and solving interest-based problems. Identify which approaches are appropriate in various situations. Learn the “secrets” of keeping discussions productive and avoiding impasses that could stall or end the communication process.

Design Thinking

Apr 16 & 17
9:00am - 4:00pm

Explore a human-centered design method for tackling innovation challenges and creating customer-driven solutions.

You will learn about and engage in hands-on design thinking activities useful to drive different types of innovation and entrepreneurship — whether social, commercial, technical, or creative in nature.

Business Strategy

Apr 16 - Jul 13

Discover how to develop and maintain a strategy for sustainable performance. Look at the “big picture” and address the challenges involved in drafting a strategic plan.

Putting the theory into practice - Jacki Fraggis, a Business Strategy student shares a real-life application of her learning.

Project Management Essentials

May 23 - 25
9:00am - 4:00pm

In a recent work management survey, 94% of respondents manage projects on a regular basis, but only 47% have "project manager" in their job title or description.

Learn how utilizing a project management approach will give you a competitive edge in your career of choice in this three-day workshop.

The Effective Leader

Jun 5 & 6
9:00am - 4:00pm

Topping our list this year was The Effective Leader two-day workshop, where you can discover how effective leaders help others to develop their skills in critical thinking, finding and implementing creative solutions, and assuming responsibility.
