This course is part of our Post-Degree Diploma in Pedorthics.

 

This 16-week online course is designed to provide you with a strong knowledge base prior to entering the Diploma in Pedorthics. There are four major areas of study: human physiology, functional human anatomy, biomechanics, and pathomechanics of injury. Each unit provides a snapshot of the important concepts and foundational principles intended to help you throughout your pedorthic education. There is a special emphasis on lower limb and clinical application of each unit’s important concepts. Weekly discussion is intended to facilitate peer collaboration, assist learning, and supplement your learning experience.

This course is a requirement for Path 2 (non-Kinesiology graduate) entry to the Diploma Pedorthics. Students cannot enrol in this course without conditional acceptance to the Diploma in Pedorthics. Learn more about the Diploma in Pedorthics.

What to Expect

This is an interactive course; you will engage online with your class and instructor through our online learning management system. Plan to log into your course regularly throughout the week.

You can expect approximately six hours of work per week for discussions, readings, assignments, exams/quizzes and other course requirements.

Completion Requirements

This is a graded course. Evaluation will be based on any combination of participation, exams/quizzes and assignments.
