TECHNOLOGY REQUIREMENTS

All our online and hybrid courses and many of our in class courses use Western's online learning management system called OWL.

To use OWL, you will need at a minimum:

• Computer or tablet able to run a recent version of web browser such as Chrome, Safari or Firefox
• Reliable high-speed internet connection

ZOOM

Most of our online courses use Zoom for scheduled weekly live sessions. Zoom sessions allow you to engage in real-time in your virtual classroom with your classmates and instructor.

Although not a requirement, we strongly encourage the use of video and audio. If you are new to using Zoom, we recommend that you sign up for an account and download the Zoom App (click to access) in advance of the first session. It is free. 

For added flexibility, webinars may be recorded allowing you to view when is most convenient for you instead of attending in real-time.
