The program

In this ten-course credit program, taught and developed by industry professionals, you will connect theory to practice and develop a professional network, unique skills, and a portfolio of projects to use throughout your career. 

The Diploma in Public Relations prepares you for a career in corporate communications and public relations.

 
 

 

What You Will Learn

Develop specialized writing techniques, including speech writing, press releases, letters to the editor, opinion columns, and internal & external communications

Identify a process for developing a communication plan using the RACE formula process establishing media contacts.

Understand different audiences/publics/stakeholders for organizational communications.

Conduct basic market research to determine the information needs of various organizational audiences/publics, both internal and external.

Confidently research, analyze and plan for communication programs while identifying and evaluating techniques for different communication vehicles or tactics to achieve stated goals.

Develop the fundamentals of PR management and leadership with ethical practice.

TERM THREE

Four Month Practicum

 

Hands-on Work Experience

Through the practicum, you will gain valuable hands-on experience, a strong network of industry contacts, and an edge in the job search process. It is the culmination of your work in the classroom and the bridge to a great career in your target industry
