INTERNATIONAL APPLICATIONS

Important Update

April 9, 2024

Western Continuing Studies will not issue any Provincial Attestation Letters to international applicants applying to a Post-Degree Diploma program for the upcoming Fall 2024 school year. This decision is due to circumstances beyond our control and a result of the Canadian government's cap on new study permits.

Exceptions

However, if you are an international student and fall into one of the following categories, you do not require a Provincial Attestation Letter:

  • An in-Canada visiting or exchange student studying at a Designated Learning Institution (DLI)
  • An in-Canada study permit and work permit holder, including existing study permit holders applying for an extension
  • An in-Canada family member of a study permit or work permit holder
  • A student who has already been approved for a study permit and intends to travel to Canada for an upcoming program
  • A student whose study permit application was received before 8:30 a.m. EST on January 22, 2024

If any of these apply to you we welcome your application to any of our Post-Degree Diploma programs.

INTERNATIONAL STUDY PERMIT

Important Update

February 5, 2024

The Canadian government recently announced a cap on new study permits. As part of the change, every new study permit application requires an attestation letter from a province or territory.

Our team is working to understand all the details and has asked for clarification on the process for students to follow. Please note that the most updated information will be posted on this website, so please check it regularly.

Applying for a Study Permit

  • If you require a new study permit and have not yet applied, you will need to hold your application until we have more information.
  • If you applied for a study permit before January 22, 2024, this new measure will not impact your study permit.
