Safety Management and Human Resources

Managing the occupational health and safety function in the workplace requires an understanding of a broad range of areas, including legislation, workplace hazards, and occupational illnesses, evaluation, and control techniques, and managing and promoting workplace safety and wellness. Overview

This is a Western University accredited two-year Diploma program. The program combines 20 courses taken from the Occupational Health and Safety Management and Human Resources programs through two years of study.

  Application Fee: $100 (non-refundable) 
  Western Ancillary Fees: Approximately $1500 per year
  Domestic Tuition: $6750 per year
  International Tuition: $18,500 per year

Domestic Requirements: Undergraduate Degree, with a minimum average of 70% in the last two years of study.

International Requirements: A minimum overall average of 70% (around a B- or 2.7 GPA) in your Bachelor's degree as calculated by Western and after translation to Canadian GPA.

Application Deadline: August 15

CHRP and CHRL Designation: This Diploma is recognized by the Human Resources Professional Association (HRPA) and meet course requirements towards CHRP/CHRL designations.  

Canadian Registered Safety Professional CRSP® Designation: This program is recognized as an approved academic program for the Canadian Registered Safety Professional (CRSP®) designation.
