This course introduces the implementation strategies for Occupational Health and Safety Management Systems.  This course will emphasize the importance of developing an effective internal responsibility system focusing on the ISO 45001 standard as a framework. This course will include the cover will following elements:

  • Reducing work-related injuries, ill-health
  • Identifying, evaluating and controlling OHS risks
  • Improving OHS performance and effectiveness
  • Transforming operations from detection to prevention mode
  • Improving compliance with current legislation
  • Providing templates and tools that students can use to implement the Occupational Health and Safety System (OHSMS)
  • Importance of OHS performance in strategic planning 
  • The necessity of including health and safety in an organization's culture
