SPRING 2026 Offering - French ONLY

The criminal justice system often exacerbates trauma and risk associated with Intimate Partner Violence (IPV). This course supports service providers in advocating for survivors through sharing knowledge of legal frameworks and procedures that they can use to promote TVI responses from the criminal justice system that are sensitive to the risk of lethal IPV.   

What You Will Learn

  • Describe the legal options available to survivors whose partners have been arrested   
  • Understand ways that a service provider might advocate within the criminal justice system for a more appropriate response to Intimate Partner Violence (IPV) risk   
  • Create an outline of specific strategies that can be used to respond to survivors in their community   
  • Apply this knowledge by developing support and advocacy plans in case examples

Il s’agit d’un cours interactif ; vous participerez en ligne avec votre classe et votre instructeur par l’intermédiaire de notre système de gestion de l’apprentissage en ligne. Prévoyez de vous connecter régulièrement à votre cours tout au long de la semaine. Les étudiants auront l’occasion de mettre en pratique les compétences qu’ils ont acquises lors d’un entretien avec un client simulé.
