Hear the perspectives of young people on the support they need in the aftermath of living with Intimate Partner Violence (IPV). Practice skills for listening to, respecting and valuing children’s voices and experiences, working with children to continually assess risk and safety plans, and building on children’s strengths and resilience in responding to violence.

What You Will Learn

  • Recognize and describe the various and differential impacts of exposure to intimate partner violence on young people from infancy to young adulthood and to identify signs and symptoms of Children’s exposure to intimate partner violence (CEIPV)
  • Learn and practice skills to listen to, respect, and validate children’s voices and experiences, including trauma and violence-informed responses to disclosure
  • Learn and practice skills needed to effectively work with children to continually assess risk and safety plan
  • Reflexively consider practices  for self-regulation in the context of working with children exposed to Intimate Partner Violence (IPV)
