This course strengthens practitioner skills to recognize and respond to structural and systemic harms shaping gender-based violence among immigrant, refugee, and non-status survivors. Through case-based learning and community dialogue, participants build literacy to identify these patterns in practice and apply trauma- and violence-informed, systemic approaches that enhance safety and choice.

What You Will Learn

  1. Deepen understanding and awareness of how structural and systemic factors shape risk, safety and access to support for immigrant, refugee, non-status survivors.
  2. Recognize and identify structural and systemic patterns of harm in practice, integrating this analysis into case assessment, planning and collaboration.
  3. Respond and refer using TVI approaches grounded in current models, evidence and community-based practices that enhance survivor safety and choice.
