Connecting for Climate Change Action

Climate change is everybody’s business. Discover how you can be part of the solution.

Explore how individuals and communities can understand, engage with, and take meaningful action on climate change. Using a storytelling approach that brings together Western science and Indigenous knowledges, the course examines the causes and impacts of climate change, the relationship between climate change and social justice, and the systems that shape our climate future.

Through an innovative and experiential online learning experience, learners will build climate change literacy, consider their own role and responsibilities, and connect with others to explore practical pathways for action. The course encourages learners to draw on their own strengths and experiences to identify meaningful ways they can contribute to climate solutions at an individual, household, local, or regional level.

Learning Outcomes

  • Build climate change literacy and explore the science, impacts, and possible pathways toward a better climate future.
  • Explore Indigenous and Western perspectives and how different ways of knowing inform our understanding of climate change, the environment, and climate action.
  • Examine climate change and social justice, including the systems and inequities that influence who experiences climate impacts and how.
  • Consider our collective roles and responsibilities as humans within Earth's interconnected systems.
  • Reflect on your own positionality and strengths and identify how you can contribute to climate action.
  • Connect and collaborate with others to share ideas, identify opportunities for action, and develop a personal climate action pledge.
