Building on the basic elements covered in Everyday French, increase your knowledge of the language by engaging in new contexts and applying what you already know. Revisit Trois-Pistoles and the surrounding Bas-Saint-Laurent region for an expanded view of the language and culture that has been home to Western University's French Immersion School for nearly 90 years.This self-paced online course includes both linguistic and cultural components.

  • Everyday conversations regarding the immediate environment, feelings and tastes

  • Vocabulary, expressions and sentence structures used in simple transactions, with a focus on situations arising during travel

  • Writing and responding to emails and navigating social media sites, all in French!

What to Expect

This is an Online: Self-paced course, so you can set your own schedule with the suggested timelines and due dates provided. Start anytime and study as much or as little as you want from week to week, completing the coursework at your own speed.

Depending on your level of experience with French, you can expect to take 20 hours to complete the course.

Real-time Learning

There are opportunities to engage online with your class and a French-speaking instructor during live sessions via Zoom.

Completion Requirements

This is an Online : Self-paced course. A grade of complete or incomplete will be issued based on completion of course activities. Attendance in the live Zoom sessions is not mandatory but is recommended.
